The biggest trick now will be not getting any tickets!

I do a lot of reading; very little in books, but being a web-programmer, I am exposed to and read quite a lot of material online. Being a bit of a perfectionist, I tend to notice all the little spelling and grammar mistakes that so many people tend to make (myself included on rare occasion) and I've noticed a few disturbingly common ones:
Then denotes a process or procedure such as a set of instructions. Example: First, kiss me, then take off my clothes.
Than denotes a comparison between two or more things. Example: Becca is taller than Jetta.
Two is the number 2. This word has no other meanings. Example: Chelle has two hands.
To indicates a direction or intent. Examples: Bob is going to the store. Bob needs to get more coke.
Too can either mean 'also' or in excess. Examples: Kevin has a gun, too (also). Kevin is too good of a shot (excessively good) for me to win a duel.
Your is possessive. This means that something belongs to someone. Example: Jetta, is this your jungle friend?
You're is a contraction or shortening of two separate words. Together, it is short for 'you are' which indicates a state of being. Example: You're my honey bunch, sugar plum, pumby-umby-umpkin. You're my sweety pie. You're my cuppy cake, gum drop, schnookums, schnookums, you're the apple of my eye.
There refers to a place or location. Example: Put my coke over there.
Their is plural-possessive, which means something belongs to a group of people rather than just an individual. Examples: Their dog thinks it's a dachshund (but it's really not).
Its is possessive with reference to some person, place, or thing. Example: Kevin's face looks so much better without its beard.
It's is a contraction or shortening of two separate words. Together, it is short for 'it is' which indicates a state of being. Example: It's not enough to have just one gun -- you gotta have at least three!.
So. We've made yet another trip to Ikea and spent yet more money on stuff. I think I may actually have more Ikea furniture in my house now than non-Ikea furniture!
This trip was for the specific purpose of organizing the pig-sty of an office we've become accustomed to working in (and stashing miscellaneous items with no better home). We've had a couple items in mind, and this time we actually got one.
Here's a picture of the "new" office which is still not completely organized. But you can see the shelving unit and the freshly painted wall behind it! The fact that we can actually walk from the doorway to our respective desks is a feat in and of itself -- you should all be proud!
We had our 2nd softball game of the season on Monday and it was a lot of fun, albeit frustrating. We had a hard time working as a team at the start of the game and gave up 9 runs in the first inning! No worries, though, they never scored again until the end of the game and we caught up straight away. It was a good, close game with good plays and frustrating mistakes on both sides. When time was up, we were tied 10-10 and went into extra innings. We scored 1 run, they scored 1 run. Another extra inning. Lisa got on base, I got a single which advanced her to 3rd, then I decided to stretch my single into a double and it almost cost us. The play at second was a LOT closer than I thought it would be and I ended up sliding in. Did I mention that I was playing in shorts? I was safe, mind you, but I tore up my leg pretty good! It still stings a bit. (I can't imagine having road rash like this all over my body after a motorcycle accident or something!). Anyway, back to the game. We scored 2 more points and now it's their turn to bat. 1 out... 2 outs... no runs. We're holding them. A single sends the planted runner from second all the way home and they are now only down by 1 point. Another single. A double. Now a runner on 3rd threatening to tie the game and a runner on 2nd threatening to win the game. 2 outs, winning run on second, big hitter at the plate... no pressure. A hit! Deep to right field... 2 runners in... that's game!
Oh, well. We had fun. It was a good game and we simply got beat. If we'd lost because we didn't play well, or the umpire was making bad calls, I would be upset and disappointed, but that's not how it happened. We just got beat.
